Cheltenham Festival: Jessie’s Jetson can fly home in Pertemps

Irish raider Jetson makes plenty of each-way appeal at 12/1 in a typically ultra competitive renewal of the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham today (2.05)

Jessica Harrington’s gelding has the right profile for the race having run well in big field handicaps.

He finished an excellent third in this race last season off a mark of 137 behid  Holywell where he wasd beaten just two lengths and then followedx that up with a cracking second of of 20 to Battle Group at Aintree off 140.

The nine-year-old then went down by just 3/4 of a length to the Battle Group in the 20-runner Long Distance Handicap Hurdle at Haydock off 143 and now gets into this off just 1lb higher having come back to form last time out with a win at Punchestown.

He stayed on well that day in the hands of Paddy  Kennedy to beat Thunder And Roses by a length, and his young rider again takes an invaluable 5lb off his back.

With the ground and trip fine he looks weighted to run a huge race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Jetson (12/1 bet365 – 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4,5, BetVictor – 12/1 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4)
