Cheltenham Festival: Missy Tata hot stuff in Fred Winter

Missy Tata looks decent each-way value at 16/1 in the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival (4.50).

The filly is one of two runners in the race for Irish trainer Gordon Elliott, the other being the highly fancied Campeador.

The County Meath-based handler saddled Flaxen Flare to land the spoils in 2013, and I fell that Missy Tata could be the better handicapped of the pair.

She shaped well in three runs in France, and looked a very smart propsect when scoring by 19 lengths at Down Royal on her first start for Elliott.

The four-year-old travelled strongly throughout and after leading two out forged clear for a facile success.

Although Missy Tata ran below expections when sent off odds-on and finishing a 15 length runner-up in a Grade 3 contest at Fairyhouse, connections found she had a problem after that run.

There is no doubt in my mind that she is better than what she showed in that contest, and this has long been her target and the vibes for her have been very strong in recent weeks.

An opening mark of 133 could well be on the lenient side, and with Bryan Cooper in the saddle she looks overpriced and well worth an each-way wager.

Daily Sport recommended bet (posted on twitter 4.30pm 15/3/16): 2pts each-way Missy Tata (16/1 Coral – BOG)
