Manshood looks overpriced and worth a punt at 16/1 in the 6.50 at Hamilton today.

Paul Midgley’s five-year-old has a good record at the track having won twice and finished runner-up in three runs over course and distance.

He was last successful over CD 11 months ago when landing a class 4 contest by a nose off a mark of 81.

The assessor put him up to 85 for that and he ran well off his revised rating when sixth of 11 in a similar grade affair at Haydock.

Manshood hasn’t really cut any ice in four starts this season, but didn’t run too badly in the second of those a not knocked seventh of 13 at Navan when weakening late on to be beaten 5 1/2 lengths, and the handicapper has been quick to cut him plenty of slack.

He is now able to race off 77, 4lb lower than when last successful, and now drops down into class 4 company having raced in class 2/3s so far during this campaign.

Manshood has a 33% strike rate in the grade having won twice and been placed once from six starts.

So in receipt of weight from all his rivals he looks a big player in this if bouncing back to anywhere near his best now returned to a venue which clearly brigs out the best in him.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Manshood (16/1 bet365, BetVictor, Boylesports, Coral – BOG)
