Clouds Rest is back down to her last winning mark and makes plenty of appeal at 12/1 in the 7.00 at Thirsk this evening now dropped back to 5f.
Richard Fahey’s filly was last successful at Beverley 12 months ago when bolting up by 4 lengths in a 5f contest off a mark of 79.
She went on to finish a fair third at Carlisle off her revised mark of 85, but her form then tailed off after she was raised another 3lb to 88.
The three-year-old has also failed to trouble the judge in four starts this season, but her last two runs have not been devoid of promise.
In the last of those over 6f at Wetherby, Clouds Rest showed plenty of early pace to lead until being headed inside the final furlong and weakening inside the last 100 yards to finish a 4 length fifth of 8 to Handsome Dude.
The assessor has sin ce dropped her another 3lb to 79, and that gives her every chance at the weights now dropped back to the minimum trip over which she has notched all three of her career successes.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Cloud’s Rest (12/1 BetVictor, Coral, Ladbrokes -BOG)
