Former WBO super-middleweight champion Steve Collins has announced that he’s making a comeback nearly 16 years after he last fought and this time its to face Roy Jones Jr. Collins who was 48 last July is hoping to beat the man he always wanted to fight. While Jones at 44 has boxed throughout Collins retirement and had a 50;50 success rate in his last 14 outings.
Jones while once one of the best pound for pound fighters on the planet is now a shadow of his former self and is currently the lesser know UBO inter-continental cruiserweight champion.
Collins is reported to have said the fight is on subject to the right financial package.
Daily Sport says – We’ll just have to wait and see what happens now maybe this will come to nothing like last years rumours of Benn v Eubank III in the pipeline.
