Compton Prince ready to rule at Lingfield

Compton Prince is back down to his last winning mark and looks decent value at 7/1 in the 3.10 at Lingfield today having shaped as if coming back to his best in his last two starts.

Milton Bradley’s gelding registered his last success over course and distance back in February when running on strongly to beat Where’s Reiley by 2 lengths off a mark of 58.

He went on to finish a decent third of 12 to Foie Gras at Kempton off 65 two starts later, after which his form tailed off.

However the five-year-old signalled that he was on the way back on his penultimate start when running on late to finish an eye-catching 2 1/4 length sixth of 12 to Chevise over course and distance, and backed that up with a solid third of 12 to New Rich last time out at Kempton.

If Compton Prince can build on those efforts he is weighted to take the beating in this off 58.

He also has a good draw in stall 2 – unlike the favourite Al’s Memory who is drawn out wide in 12 – and everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Compton Prince (7/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
