Magicalmysterytour has slipped back down to a handy mark and looks overpriced at 12/1 in the 7.10 at Kempton today.
Willie Musson’s veteran posted several solid efforts to make the frame in the early part of the season before getting back on the scoresheet at Nottingham in June.
The 11-year-old kept on strongly from off the pace to beat Nolecce by 1 3/4 lengths in a class 5 contest off 52, and was then off the track for 104 days.
He hasn’t shown much in his four runs back after that lay-off, but the handicapper has been very quick to cut him some slack and has dropped him from 57 to 51.
That means he is just now 1lb lower than when last successful, and that gives him every chance from a handicapping perspective.
Although he has yet to win over today’s 2m trip he did run well over it here back in February when runner-up to The Young Master off 54, and a reproduction of that effort would give him every chance in this off 3lb lower.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Magicalmysterytour (12/1 BetVictor, William Hill – BOG)
