We have just four sleeps to go until fight night and this one is sure to be a great fight from two fantastic fighters.  Chris talks to us about his past fights and gives his honest opinion about his fight against Ben.

We haven’t spoken to you before, so tell us all the details about you.

My name is Chris Harman, nicknamed ‘The Welsh Warrior’ which was given to me by UCMMA promoter Dave o Donnell after the Mark Potter fight. I fight at Middle, Light Heavy and Heavyweight. This fight is at Light Heavy and I enter the fight with a record of 2-6-0

You have fought a lot on UCMMA, what do you like about the promotion and what makes you keep going back for more?

The atmosphere at UCMMA is like no other show.  It’s 100% electric 100% of the time.

Out of all of your fights on UCMMA what has been your favourite to date and why?

I think my favourite fight is actually a fight that I lost against Mark Potter, I quite enjoyed the fact that he was a man monster and to see just how far I could push myself.

You are due to fight Big Ben Smith at UCMMA 37, what do you know about Ben as a fighter? How are you preparing for him and are you doing anything specifically tailored for him?

Firstly, I’d like to make it clear that I consider it an honour to fight Ben Smith, he is a huge name in UK MMA and I am very pleased to have been given this opportunity. I have had a six week intensive training camp specifically tailored for Ben.

Can we expect to see you keep this fight standing or are you happy to go wherever?

Ben is massively strong and has a well-educated ground game.  I am going to be at a disadvantage should the fight be fought on the floor.

Do you want to give us a fight prediction?

I think it will be an unexpected result.

How have you evolved as a fighter since you started in MMA?

Well admittedly, I made the classic stand-up fighters mistake of thinking I could fight anyone on my feet, unfortunately it rarely works out like that, so let’s just say I’ve spread my wings a little bit.

And to round up, tell us who, if anyone you would really like to face in the future on UCMMA?

I think I’ve faced most of the best the UK has to offer, I have the scars and broken bones to prove it, people know I will fight anyone at any weight at any given time so the only person I would like to fight is the most dangerous person at the time.
