Plenty of NFL action to get stuck into tonight, and I make the Houston Texans the best bet at 10/11 to cover the spread and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Houston Texans
The Steelers, a bit like Arsenal this season in that they look good on paper but don’t impress me much, travel to the lean mean offensive points scoring machine the Houston Texans. The Steelers (2-1) who looked limp as you like against the colts last week scraping home 23-20 thanks to a last second field goal have yet to impress me this season as scraping past this seasons whipping boys (the colts) can testify.
Houston Texans can welcome back last seasons’ top dog running back Aran Foster who has shaken off his hamstring problem, not that they have missed him that much as they are the leagues 5th best running offence so far this season.
I expect the Texans to cover the spread in emphatic style.
Washington Redskins at St Louis Rams
The Skins really blew it last week against the Cowboys throwing away a 16-9 on the road and look to get there season back on track against the hapless Rams (0-3).
St. Louis have the second-worst point difference (we would call it goal difference) in the league with a current standing of – 60. The Rams got smashed in the first quarter last week conceding three touchdowns in the first quarter in the 37-7 shocking home loss to Baltimore ravens.
I expect the Rams to be all out to try and erase fans memories of last weeks shocker but I think the Skins should prevail in a tight encounter.
New York Jets at the Baltimore Ravens
For me the Jets have promised so, so much but ultimately delivered so very little. They are constantly “larging it” as to how good they are yet when it comes down to it they flatter to deceive.
The Jets are ranked 31st against the run and were smashed up for 234 yards and four touchdowns on the ground in a 34-24 loss to Mcfadden and the rampant Oakland last week
That result will surely have left Ray Rica and the Baltimore Ravens licking there lips ahead of this clash.
My major criticism of the Ravens is they haven’t really smashed the opposition when I felt they should have and perhaps last week is a sign that maybe they could be serious contenders this year.
