The Liverpudlian looks to clinch a shot at WBO champion Joseph Parker with victory over Christian Hammer at Olympia on Saturday, February 4.
The 33 year old has put three knock-out losses behind him to climb up to No 6 in the WBO rankings.
The defeats came against fighters who have failed drugs tests – Tony Thompson (twice) and Erkan Teper – and Price says he wants to prove only cheats can beat him.
He said: “I’ve lost to two drug cheats, been written off by everybody and when I win the world title, it will be the greatest boxing story ever told.
“I’m very vocal about drugs and it will be a victory for clean athletes when I win the world title.
“I want to prove those defeats were down to drugs and that no clean athlete can beat me.”
Price has beaten Hammer before, in the qualifiers for the 2008 Olympics.
Price’s 15-6 points win meant he went to Beijing and Hammer missed out.
Price remembered: “I caught him with a good uppercut in the first round and I think it broke his nose.
“There was blood everywhere. That took the fight out of him.
“He went on the back foot and I coasted to the win. He probably regrets that.
“He didn’t really push it and was an easy win for me. He will be fired up for this fight and has just beaten someone who’s beaten me (Erkan Teper).”
That defeat to Teper left Price to do “a lot of soul searching,” but he’s returned with a pair of knock-out wins under new coach Dave Coldwell and said: “I’ve changed.
“I’m using my size more.
“Instead of being a stand-off boxer, I’m going to meet my opponents head on.
“I’m going to be more aggressive.
“I’m one of the biggest punchers in the world and I want to show them that from the start.
“My opponents go in there thinking they just have to land a big punch to win, but they need to worry about my power.
“My hands in 10 ozs gloves are weapons.
“I’m going to go in there and do what I do. I’m not thinking about Christian Hammer brings and the only possible conclusion is me knocking him out, probably in four rounds.”
