Poyle Vinnie has been running well of late and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1 in the 3.10 at Southwell today now dropped back dowm in trip.

Mick Appleby’s charge is on a long losing run having not scored since landing the 2015 running of the class 2 Scottish Stewards’ Cup at Hamilton off a mark of 95.

He went on to finish a cracking second of 25 to Don’t Touch in the valouable Ayr Gold Cup in the same year off 103 and also ran well at Chester back in July when third in a class 2 off 102.

The seven-year-old is now able to race in this class 2 contest off 97 and comes into the race on the back of two solid efforts at Newcastle over 6f when finishing second and third and being unable to find any extra late on having travlled well – particularly in the former.

Judged on those runs the drop back to 5f looks sure to suit and he has won once and been placed once in three starts over course and distance so the return to the fibresand will clearly hold no fears.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Poyle Vinnie (7/1 bet365, BetVictor, Ladbrokes, William Hill – BOG)
