DeGale has WBC final eliminator in his sights

Hennessy SportsLondon super-middleweight James DeGale is a step closer to realising his world title dream, after the WBC call for him to face Badou Jack in a final eliminator for the right to become mandatory challenger for the WBC world super middleweight championship.

 

This follows Marco Antonio Periban’s withdrawal from their scheduled eliminator, the WBC have announced the news that DeGale, the WBC Silver Champion, has been waiting for, as he moves just one fight away from facing champion Sakio Bika for the title.

 

“This is the fight I’ve been aiming towards and it’s one I’m going to take with both hands – I’m 100% fit, 100% hungry and I’m good to go,” DeGale told DAILY SPORT Boxing.

 

But undefeated Badou Jack, will be no walkover for DeGale having notched up 11 KO’s from 16 victories and the Gambia/Swedish fighter is based out of Las Vegas under the watchful eye of Mayweather Promotions.
