Betfair make Frankel’s first born foal a 20-1 chance to win a Group One race throughout his career, after it was confirmed todaythat his first born, out of Group Three-winning mare Chrysanthemum, entered the world at Coolmore Stud in Ireland on Saturday evening.
Frankel, trained by the late Sir Henry Cecil, retired from the track in October 2012 after taking his 100% record to 16 with victory in the Qipco Champion Stakes.
The six-year-old began his career with victory in a Newmarket maiden back in August of 2010 and Betfair make it a 2-1 chance that the newly born bay colt also makes a winning debut.
Frankel was partnered by Irishman Tom Queally in all of his races and it is a 100-1 chance that Queally partners the colt on his racecourse debut.
Frankel was an impressive winner of the Group One Dewhurst Stakes as a two-year-old and Betfair make it a 40-1 chance that the new Coolmore inmate is a Group One winner in his debut season.
It is a 25-1 chance that the newly born colt runs under National Rules throughout his career.
Betfair Spokesman Barry Orr commented today: ‘’ It is exciting news that Frankel’s first foal has been born and we make it a 20-1 chance that he lands a Group One during his racing career’’
‘’He has big shoes to fill but he is well and truly breed in the purple so hopefully he can excite us in the way his father did’’
