Drumlee Lad bold up last time out and looks worth siding with at 6/1 to defy a rise in the weights to follow-up in the 4.35 at Ludlow today.

The gelding looked out of sorts earlier in the season when failing to finish off his races fro trainer David Pipe, but looked a totally different proposition last time out on his first start for Johanny Farrelly when landing a handicap hurdle at Doncaster by 10 lengths.

After being held-up in mid-divsion, Drumlee Lad made smooth headway on the bit to chase the leaders three from home before being produced to lead at the last and pull effortless clear on the run-in.

It was a perforamnce which suggested he was well ahead of the assessor, and although he has been put up 11lb to a mark of 114 that may still underestimate his ability.

The third home at Donny who was beaten a total of 13 1/2 lengths, Kilronnan Castle, has also come out and won since to give the form a boost and Drumlee Lad was rated as high as 118 earlier in the season.

He also looks the type who should have more to offer, and if turning up in the same form as at Donny is going to be tough to beat.

Daily Sport recommneded bet: 2pts win Drumlee Lad (6/1 bet365 – BOG)
