Emma’s looks a Gift at 11/4

The in-form Emma’s Gift looks to have been found a glorious opportunity to register and overdue success in the 2.10 Kempton and rates a solid bet at 11/4.

Julia Fielden’s filly has bounced back to form in her last two outings after being fitted with blinkers, and was an unlucky loser last time out at Lingfield when beaten 1/2 a length by Young Dottie.

Held up at the rear of the field that day she got no sort of run when trying to make her move and had to be switched wide to deliver her challenge.

When she did see daylight she picked up in good style, and was gaining on the winner all the way to the line in  the 1m contest.

It was a terrific run under the circumstances and despite being put up 2lb by the handicapper, she still remains very well handicapped.

She is a massive 14lb lower than her last success when beating Metropolitan Miss at Ascot by in April and was far from disgraced when trying to follow up that victory in a listed event at York won by Theysken’s Theory where she finished 5th of 8 but was beaten just six lengths.

A reproduction of either of those efforts would see her win this with the minimum of fuss, and she looks head and shoulders above today’s rivals.

At 11/4 she looks cracking value.
