Emperatriz value at 13/2 to gain deserved success

Emperatriz looks decent value at 13/2 to gain a deserved success in the 1.00 at Southwell today.

The filly hasn’t got her head in front since landing a Newcastle maiden back in August 2012, but she has shown improved form this year and ran well to finish runner-up on four occasions – with three of those coming at this track.

On the first of those he got beat just 3/4 of a length by Imaginary World over 7f and she now meets the winner on 2lb better terms.

She then got beat just 1/2 a length by Megamunch over today’s trip of a mile off the same mark of 63, and ran really well last time out when finishing second of 12 to Chrissycross over a mile at this venue where he was beaten just a neck.

The handicapper has put her up 2lb for that effort, but Jack Holt’s charge clearly relishes the surface and may yet have more to offer.

The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor certrainly deserves to get her head in front and at the odds on offer looks good value to do so in what looks a winnable contest.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Emperatriz (13/2 BetVictor – BOG)
