10/1 Cadeaux Pearl too well-treated to ignore

Cadeaux Pearl runs of a carerr-low handicap mark in the 2.30 at Southwell today and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 10/1.

Scott Dixon’s gelding is a course and distance winner who is on a long losing run having not scored since landing a 5f contest at Epsom back in April 2012.

However that win came off a mark of 83 and he now gets into this off a massive 18lb lower (65).

It makes him dangerously well-handicapped on the pick of his form, and although he has been largely out of formn this year he has run a couple of solid races which has shown he retains enough ability to be competitive off his lowly rating.

He finished a runner-up to Oldjoesaid at Musselburgh back in March off 79 and also ran very well off the same rating when finishing 5th of 12 to Cheworee on soft ground at Windsor next time up.

The five-year-old’s win at this venue also came off 9lb higher, and he has also finished runner-up over course and distance off 82.

There is little doubt that he is now weighted to go in again, and in receipt of 10lbs from the red-hot jolly and course specialist Hannah’s Return – who has to race off a career-high of 75 – looks overpriced at the odds on offer and well worth an each-way wager.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Cadeaux Pearl (10/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
