Euro 2016: England a solid punt at 10/11 to beat Russia

England rates a solid bet at the general 10/11 on offer to beat Russia tonight (8pm KO, Live in ITV 1) and get their Euro 2016 campaign off to a flying start.

Roy Hodgsons’ men were a perfect 10/10 in the qualifiers, the only team not to do so.

They have built up a will-to-win attitude and have a plenty of young and exciting players, plus some very useful goalscoers in the shape of Kane, Vardy and the stalwart that is Wayne Rooney.

I believe that they are simply the better side in this, and Russia have a number of key players ruled out through injury and have only only kept two clean sheets in their last 15 games at the European Championships.

Russia have also lost their last two opening games at the Euros, and I fully expect England to make that three.

Backing the to win to nil looks worth a wager at 7/4 with Betfred, whilst Rooney appeals in the anytime goalscorer market at 23/10 with 888sport.
