Stoke face a tough away game against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa league tonight (6pm KO) and given their current form they may have to settle for a share of the spoils.
The Potters have lost their last three games in all competitions and looked very lacklustre when beaten 3-1 at home by Newcastle last weekend.
OK, they have won six and drawn one of their seven European games this season if you include the qualifiers but they are beginning to look jaded and will need to lift their game to win this.
Maccabi are certainly not the most taxing of opponents and have won only one of their last 10 European games.
However they have the best passing accuracy in the Europa League this term and on their home soil are likely to frustrate Stoke and have possession for large chunks of the game.
This is going to be a tough game for Stoke, and I have a feeling that manager Tony Pulis would be happy with a draw and getting it out of the way before Sunday’s trip to Bolton in the Premier League.
I certainly cannot make a compelling argument to back either side to win, so at 12/5 with Sky Bet the draw looks the most logical way to play from a punting perspective.
