Exchange market on Champion Hurdle £1m and growing

With just under 19 days to the Cheltenham Festival, the Betfair Exchange ante post market on the Champion Hurdle has already breached the £1m mark and is firmly on course to beat last year’s market which traded £1.37m.

Billed by many as the festival highlight, this year’s Champion Hurdle has attracted huge volumes due to the sheer competitiveness of the race and the uncertainty of who will actually go off favourite on the day.

The Willie Mullins trained Annie Power is arguably the most intriguing contender in the race and the uncertainty of whether she will line up in this race or the World Hurdle has added an extra dimension, she is currently 13-1 to beat the boys.

Betfair Spokesman Barry Orr said: “The race has divided opinion like no other on the Exchange and customers have really waded in already pushing the traded volumes past last year’s total of £1.37m.

“This year’s renewal will certainly surpass that and could, potentially, set a new Ante-Post record on the Exchange.”

The Champion Hurdle – Betfair Exchange betting: 3-1 The New One, 7-2 Hurricane Fly, 5-1 Our Connor, My Tent Or Yours, 10-1 Jezki, 13-1 Annie Power, 25-1 Bar
