First Du Charmil appeals at 8s on handicap debut at Lingfield

First Du Charmil looks potentially well-treated on handicap debut in the 2.00 at Lingfield today and worth a punt at 8/1.

The gelding shaped well on bumper debut for Tom Lacey when fourth at Southwell and there was also lots to like about his first start over hurdles when a promising 9 1/2 length third of eight to Top Ville Ben at Towcester.

The winner is now rated 139 over hurdles whilst the runner-up Count Meribel is also rated 139 and 148 over fences.

First Du Charmil also ran well two starts back on his first outing for Sam Drinkwater when a 4 3/4 length third of 14 to Mahlervous at Southwell when splitting a pair of rivals now rated 129 and 114.

He also travelled well for a long way last time out before weakening to finish a 16 1/4 length fourth of 15 to Turtle Wars at Huntingdon.

First Du Charmil now makes his handicap bow off a ratring of 114 and that looks exploitable on his afoermentioned efforts.

He also appeals as the type to do well now going down the handicapping and is a scopey an unexposed sort who now gets the services of the in-form Noel Fehily in the saddle for the first time.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way First Du Charmil (8/1 BetVictor, William Hill – BOG)
