Fit For The Job has become dangerously well-treated and looks worth siding with at 8/1 in the 7.45 at Windsor today now returned to a sounder surface and reunited with jockey Fran Berry.
The gelding had some useful form to his name in Ireland when winning three times with his last success coming in a class 1 handicap at the Curragh off a mark of 88.
He went on to finish sixth of 12 to Third Dimension at Limerick off 93 and was far from disgraced at the Curragh back last September when a 7 1/3 length ninth of 17 in another class 1 affair.
The J P McManus owned five-year-old is now able to race off just 72, a career low, and that makes him potentially thrown-in at the weights on the pick of his from in this class 4 contest.
Although disapointing last time out on his first start for trainer Jonjo O’Neill at Chepstow the soft ground was not ideal and he is entitled to strip much fitter for that outing.
Fit For The Job will appreciate the better griound and now gets reunited with Berry who has partnered him to all three of his career successes, and also finished placed twice on him from eight rides, for a strike rate of 38%.
