Sheffield’s Tommy Frank put of a craeer best performance on Friday night at the city’s Ponds Forge Arena when he demolished Belfast’s luke Wilton in just 4 rounds to claim the vacant Commonwealth super-flyweight title.
Frank started the bout with strength and determination showing Wilton who was going to boss the fight. Then having dropped Wilton Twice in the opener Frank carried on the onslaught in rounds 2 and 3 before turning up the pressure in the 4th.
Round 4 with Wilton getting DROPPED twice from cracking lefts to the body the fight was over and Frank was crwoned the new Commonwealth champ.
After the bout Frank dedicated the win to Scott Westgarth.
In the upset of the evening Manchester’s Michael Gomez Jr lost for the first time in his 10 fight career to Wales’ Henry James. James proved to be a tough OPPO and Gomez got drawn in to a battle too easily.
