Froch v Kessler II

At a packed press conference at London’s O2 this morning Matchroom Boxing & Sauerland Promotions formally announced what will be the biggest clash on British soil since Benn v Eubank II so the date has been set for 25th May and the 17,000 tickets went on sale at 12 noon today and by 12.45 over 9,000 had already been snapped up.

Froch’s promoter Eddie Hearn paid tribute to Kessler for being the true champion he is and agreeing to a return here in the UK saying”I have respect for Kessler in coming to the UK and making the massive unification fight happen”

Carl Froch added”Kessler is a legend and a pure fighter and an honourable man for coming here to the UK and giving me the chance to avenge my loss to him in Denmark in 201o” Froch added”To this day I still think of this loss and just want to wipe the slate clean and beat Mikkle this time around.”

Kessler who will be having his 3 title fight in a year said”I won the fight last time and I just want to prove I don’t need home advantage second time around.” with Kesslers promoter LKalle Sauerland adding”The first fight was a war, the second fight is going to be even better and in fact BRUTAL.”

With an undercard to be announced shortly which will feature stars from both Sauerland and Matchroom stables this is going to be a superb night not only for British and Danish fans but boxing fans around the globe with Sky Box Office showing the fight here in the UK, Viasat in Denmark and HB in the US plus a whole host of other networks around the globe.
