George William makes plenty of appaal at 13/2 in the Coral Challenge in the 2.25 at Sandown today.
Richard Hannon’s charge scored three times last season and looked better than ever on return to action at Nottingham back in March when getting up late to beat subsequent dual-scorer G K Chesterton by a neck.
He then looked an unlucky loser next time up when fourth of 21 to Banksea in the Spring Cup at Newbury where after losing ground when missing the break he was forced to weave his way through horses before being beaten just 3/4 of a length.
George William backed that up with a fine 3/4 length second to Fastnet Temptest in the 7f Victora Cup at ascot, when again denied a clear run at a crcial stage before finishing the race off strongly to be gaining all the way to the line.
The four-year-old then got no chnace to to show his true colours last time out from a low draw when an 8 length 22nd of 29 in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot.
A line can safely be put through that effor given the huge bias at the track on the day and George William looks a massive player in this based on his earlier form.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way George William (13/2 bet365, BetVictor, Coral – BOG)
