Glenalmond has become dangerously well-treated and looks worth siding with at 15/2 in the 3.50 at Ripomn today now eased in grade.
Karl Burke’s charge scored in good style on debut as a juvenile and went on to finish a cracling 1 length fourth to Muhaarar in the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes at York.
He started last season off on a mark of 107 on the back of that, and was far from disgraced when a 4 length fourth of five to Home Of The Brave in the class 1 European Handicap at Newmarket.
Glenalmond was then highly tried in his next three starts, including in the 2000 Guineas, and it’s fair to say that his form tailed off.
However, he didn’t run badly at Chesterlast July when keeping on to finish a never nearer 4 length fifth of 13 to Make It Up off a mark of 95 and is now able race off a career-low of just 85.
The gives him major claims at the weights and he now drops down into class 3 company for the first time having shaped better than the bare result in two runs this season in class 2 company.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Glenalmond (15/2 bet365, Coral, Sky Bet, William Hill – BOG)
