Arsenal are a top priced 2/7 to beat neighbours QPR at the Emirates today (3pm KO), and Robin Van Persie is fancied to fire the Gunners to victory.
Arsene Wenger’s side come into the game on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw against Wolves but they have still picked up 26 points from their last 12 games and that ratio – over the course of an entire campaign – would have been enough to win them the title last season.
By stark contrast their opponents have mustered just 10 points from a possible 39, and they have also taken just two points from their last six games.
So it really should be pretty straight forward for the Gunners, and they cannot be opposed despite the very cramped odds on offer.
But rather than play at 2/7 I’m going to put my faith in van Persie once again getting his name on the scoresheet.
The Dutchman is just two shy of equalling Alan Shearer’s Premier League record for goals and will surely be keen to give it his best shot.
He is a top priced 9/4 with bet365 and Betfred to net the opener and to me that represents good value.
In the correct score market I like the look of a 2-1 victory for Arsenal which can be backed at 9/1 with Blue Square.
