Hill Fort weighted to go well at Leicester

Hill Fort is back down below his last winning mark and makes plenty of appeal at 9/1 in the 3.50 at Leicester today now dropped back in trip following a promising effort last time out.

Matt Sheppard’s seven-year-old was last successful in the mud over 2m Chepstow when running on strongly to score by eight lengths in a class 4 affair.

He got put up to 123 for that easy success and failed to trouble the judged in fourth subsequent outings.

However, they were in class 3 contests and he as if returning to form last time out at Chepstow when dropped back into class 4 company and finishing ninth of 16 to Cobolobo.

Hill Fort travelled strongly into the 2m 4f contest before making a mistake three from home and weakening.

The drop back down to 2m is sure to suit and having been eased another 2lb in the weights to a rating of 110 he is now running off a mark 2lb lower than when last successful.

That gives him a big shout at the weights in this class 4 affair if building on his latest effort.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Hill Fort (9/1 Paddy Power – BOG)
