Hot pair for Kempton

Lucas looks lovely at 7s

Lucas Pitt looks on a winning mark in the 5.10 at Kempton and rates a solid each-way bet at 7/1.

Michael Scudmaore’s gelding got off the mark when landing a handicap over course and distance in goood style last November off a rating of 52.

He stayed on really well that day from off the pace to win going away by 2 3/4 lengths, and races off just a 1lb higher mark today.

The four-year-old caught the eye in no uncertain terms when finishing well from off the pace to be a never nearer 5th of 10 to Fascination here on his comeback last month after a lengthy lay-off, and although wel beaten last time out at ffos Las it’s easier to forgive him that run in testing conditions.

The son of Kyllachy is much more effective on the all-weather surface, and with David Kenny taking off another 5lb he looks weighted to take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Lucas Pitt (7/1 generally available – use BOG firms)

8/1 Finalist ready to score

Dean Ivory’s Finalist has been a massive eye-catcher in her last two starts and is of major interest at 8/1 now upped in trip in the 6.40 at kempton.

The daughter of Avonbridge was slowly away to starts ago over 5f at this venure, and was still last turning for home before putting a a flying finish to be a never nearer 5th of 11 to Mr Henrix.

She then ran a similar race on her latest start, again over the minimum trip, when doing all her best work late.

Both runs suggested that she would be able to capture a race of this nature when stepped back up to the 6f she tackles this evening, and connections are also fitting her with blinkers for the first time.

That looks the perfect combination for the filly given that she tends to race a bit lazily early doors, and she is certainly not badly treated on a mark of 58 in what looks a very winnable contest.

I had her priced up at around the 6/1 mark, so at the 8s on offer she looks too big and rates a solid each-way play.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Finalist (8/1 generally availble – use BOG firms)
