Hot pair for Lingfield

Bolder a great bet at 7s

Even Bolder looks very well treated in the 2.15 at Lingfield today and is strongly fancied at 7/1 to score an overdue success.Eric Wheeler’s gelding had not scored in 2011, but he has made the frame on nine occasions and is now 8lb lower than when last scoring.

He also shaped far better than his finishing position suggest when fifth of 9 to Triple Dream over course and distance two weeks ago as he was denied a clear run at a vital stage before keeping on well to be beaten just under four lengths.

That run suggested to me that he was ready to take advantage of his lenient mark, and it looks significant that connections have booked Seb Sanders to partner the eight-year-old this afternoon.

Sanders has a 20% strike rate when teaming up with Wheeler this year, and he looks the ideal pilot for the selection.

Another plus is that he has a decent draw in stall 3 from where he should be able to tuck in behind the leaders and hopefully be produced late to land the spoils.

Everything looks in place for a huge run, and at 7/1 I think he looks overpriced for a horse with so much in his favour.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win  Even Bolder (7/1 generally available)

Frank looks Super at 10/1

Super Frank ran as if ready to take advantage of a lenient mark when runner-up last time out and looks excellent value at to go one better in the 3.45 at Lingfield.

The eight-year-old has been a multiple all-weather winner over the years, but hasn’t scored since scoring over course and distance here last December.

However that win came off a mark of 59 and he is now running off just 52.

That gives him a tremendous chance from a handicap perspective and he was arguably an unlucky loser over course and distance two weeks ago when beaten just 3/4 of a length by Microlight after a tardy start.

Despite dwelling in the stalls he looked to be coming with a winning run inside the final furlong, and I feel that if his rider had been able to give him a few more cracks he would have prevailed.

He won’t have to improve much on that effort to take all the beating in this, and providing he gets away on terms he looks sure to be in the thick of the action at the business end of affairs.

At 10/1 he looks cracking each-way value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Super Frank (10/1 Boylesports, Victor Chandler – BOG)
