Huntingdon Hotties

Tecktal looks tasty

Tecktal goes unpenalised for his last win in the 1.20 Huntingdon at rates a solid bet at 5/2.

Pat Phelan’s charge did us a favour eight days ago when bolting up at Fontwell and it’s no surprise to see connections turn her out quickly before the handicapper has his say.

She is due to go up 4lb in the near future, and with conditions in her favour she has every chance of going in again.

The eight-year-old has shown plenty of promise before breaking her duck at the Sussex track, and now that she has got her head in front there is every chance that she will continue to progress.

To me eyes she is certainly better than her current mark of 71, and from the foot of the weights with Richie Killoran – who partnered her last time – back  in the saddle she is going to take all the beating this afternoon.

This certainly doesn’t look any stronger a contest than she won last time out, and at 11/4 she looks the best bet on the card.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Tecktal (5/2 generally available – use BOG firms)

9/1 Break The Chain makes plenty of appeal

Break The Chain shaped with plenty of promise on his seasonal reappearance and makes plenty of appeal at 8/1 in the 3.20 at Huntingdon.

Caroline Bailey’s charge looked in need of the run at Chepstow after a lengthy lay off and ran far better than his finishing position of 7th of 13 to Drumbaloo suggests.

The five-year-old raced prominently to three out until losing his place and then weakened badly in the closing stages as race fitness clearly began to take it’s toll.

He is sure to strip much fitter this afternoon, and his form last season has to make him of interest in this line up.

the gelding opened his account over hurdles whe  beating Well Hello There at Southwell and went on to run a string of solid races – including a solid third to the useful Araldur off today’s mark of 107 on his final start of the campaign.

That form looks pretty strong on the context of this contest, and at the 8/1 on offer he looks overpriced and good each-way value.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Break The Chain (9/1 Boylesports, Betfred – BOG)
