Kalifourchon is back down to a handy mark and looks worth a punt at 15/2 in the 3.40 at Southwell today.
David Pipe’s charge was last sucessful when landing a competitive class class 2 contest at Market Rasen 13 months ago by 3/4 of a length off a mark of 120.
He got up to 123 for that victory and his form has been hit and miss since.
However, he did tun well two starts back when runner-up to Western Miller off 118 and is able to race in this class 3 affair off the same rating.
It make shim well-treated on his Market Rasen win if putying his best foot forward at a venue where he is 1-1 over course and distance.
With the favourite Braavos having been put up 4lb for finishing second on his latest start and now having to race off a career-high mark of 130 – 11lb higher than when last successful – Kalifourchon looks decent value at the odds on ofer.
