Legend looks lovely at 8s

See The Legend returns to action on an attractive handicap mark in the 3.10n at Ayr and looks cracking value at 8/1.

Sandy Forster’s lightly raced seven-year-old made a really promising handicap debut over 2m at this track last February when staying on well to be beaten 5 1/2 lengths into third by Circus Clown off a rating of 83.

That was a decent contest of its type that has thrown up plenty of subsequent winners, and although she failed to build on that effort in her next two outings there was clearly something amiss and she has to be of interest in this if anywhere near back to here best.

The way she finished off her race behind Circus Clown suggested that today’s trip of 2m 3f would be ideal, and with the handicapper having dropped her a pound to a mark of 82 there is little doubt that she is weighted to strike if ready to roll after a lengthy break.

Given that her best run came after a break I am hoping that first time up may be the time to catch her, and if it is she has plenty in her favour this afternoon as she receives weight from all bar one of her rivals and has conditions to suit.

Everything looks on the cards for a huge run, and at 8/1 she looks an each-way steal.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way See The Legend (8/1 BetVictor, Boylesports, Ladbrokes – BOG).
