Modernism makes plenty of appeal at 18/1

Modernism has slipped to a handy mark and looks worth siding with at 18/1 in the 4.30 at Wolverhampton today now dropped back down in trip.

The gelding is a four-time course winner who was last successful at Lingfield back in 2015 off a mark of 82 when trained by Richard Fahey.

He went on to runner a number of solid races last year to make the frame on four occasions, including off a mark of 86.

Now in the care of Ian Williams, the eight-year-old is able to race off just 77 and that make him potentially well-treated on the pikc of his form.

Although well beaten in two starts for his new handler, the 2m trip in the last of those at Chelmsford  was too far – led until weakening late on – and this afternoon’s 1m 4f is much more up his street.

Thsoe two runs after a break should also have blown away the cobwebs and put him spit on for this, and if outting his best foot forward Modernism looks weighted to run a big race at a course which clearly suits.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Modernism (18/1 bet365, BetVictor – BOG)
