Moone looks magic at 8s

The progressive Moone’s My Name looks ahead of the handicapper and is strongly fancied at 8/1 to get back to winning ways in the 3.25 at Epsom.

Ralph Beckett’s charge did nothing but improve through last season, and after winning her maiden at the fourth time of asking at Warwick  she followed up in good style on her handicap debut at Leicester when running on strongly to account for Bakoura by 3/4 of a length.

She then put in a disappointing effort at Sandown, but bounced back on her final start when chasing home Iron Step at Leicester off a mark of 79.

That run suggested that she was one to keep on the right side this season, and the daughter of Intikhab confirmed that impression when running out an easy 4 length winner over Ree’s Rascal on her reappearance at Windsor off a rating of 79.

She looked to have strengthened up quite a bit from last year, and although she could only finish fourth to Making Eyes at Ascot last time out she was unsuited by the soft underfoot conditions and shaped far better than her finishing position suggests having been awkward leaving the stalls and being forced to make up ground from off the pace.

To me that run proved she was more than capable of scoring from her current mark, and now that she is back on her favoured going she looks sure to run a huge race and take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Moone’s My Name (11/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
