Mount Cheiron has posted some solid efforts at Wolverhampton and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1 in the 5.10 there today.
Richard Ford’s gelding caught the eye on his first start over course and distance back in March when running on well to finish a never nearer fourth tp Toymaker off a mark of 53 after jockey Graham Lee dropped his reigns inside the final furlong.
He went on to score at Southwell off 52, and also ran a blinder on his only other start over course and distance two starts back when failing by just a short-head to overhaul the well-treated Atreus off a rating of 48.
Although now 3lb higher in the weights, Mount Cheiron doesn’t looks too badly treated off 51 on the pick of his form and connections have put up Callum Rodriquez whose claim takes 7lb off his back.
Taking it into account, Mount Cheiron looks weighted to run a huge race at a track which clearly suits.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mount Cheiron (7/1 bet365, Coral, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Stan James, William Hill – BOG)
