Mr Chocolate Drop a tasty bet at 14/1

Mr Chocolate Drop is on a dangerous mark in the 4.25 at Kempton and makes plenty of each-way appeal at 14/1.

Mandy Rowland’s 10-year-old is on a long losing streak, with his last win coming back at Ayr in July 2012 where he scored off a mark of 55.

He went on to finish a decent fourth of 11 on the polytrack surface at Wolverhampton that year off a mark of 63, and although he failked to trouble the judged last year he didn’t run too badly when fifth of 12 to Chosen Forever at Wolverhampton off 60 and when occupying the same spot behind Divine Rule in a 12-runner affair over today’s course and distance off 57.

Since then his handicap mark has continude to plummet, and he now gets into this off just 45.

That is the lowest rating he has run off in just over 6 years and gives him a big shout at the weights on the pick of his form.

He also shaped far better than his finishing position suggests last time out when fourth of 13 to Katmai River at Wolverhampton where he travelled well and made headway two from home before weakening to be beaten 11 lengths without being knocked about, and if he can build on that he is entitled to go very close in this from his current mark.

Another plus is that he has won four times at the track – including twice over today’s trip of a mile – and with Martin Harley in the saddle and a good draw to exploit in stall 2 everything looks in place for a big run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mr Chocolate Drop (14/1 BetVictor – BOG)
