Betfair make it an even money chance that Willie Mullins trains three or four Grade 1 winners at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival this December.
Mullins who is set to unleash many of his stars over the Christmas period including Hurricane Fly, who is already a warm favourite for the Ryanair Hurdle, has a host of talent for the novice hurdle and chase ranks as well as an embarrassment of riches when it comes to top-class mares.
Mullins who enjoyed a Grade 1 double on the opening day of the festival last year, courtesy of Blood Cotil and Arvika Ligeonniere, is a 50-1 chance to draw a Grade 1 blank in the Foxrock venue.
It is a 13-8 chance that he makes it five or six Grade 1 wins, while he is a 25-1 chance to win all seven Grade 1 races at the festval.
Mullins has started the new season in tremendous style and recorded the fastest century of winners in a national hunt season for the third year in succession recently.
Betfair Spokesman Barry Orr commented today: ‘’ We all know that Willie Mullins dominates the Irish racing scene and it would come as no surprise to see him bag all seven Grade 1 races’’
‘’He has a wealth of talent at his disposal and punters are currently of the opinion that three or four Grade 1 wins looks the most likely’’
