12/1 Bond Fastrac cracking value
The in-form Bond Fastrac has conditions to suit in the 4.30 at Newcastle and looks cracking each-way value at 12/1.
Geoff Oldroyd’s gelding took advantage of his falling handicap mark when winning over 5f in the mud at Carlisle last month and showed he was still at the top of his game when a solid fourth to Titus Gent on the all-weather at Wolverhampton on his latest start.
He stayed on strongly that day to be beaten just over a length and gets in this contest off exactly the same mark.
Given that he is was once rated as high as 92 it’s unlikely that the handicapper has got to grips with him yet, and his current mark is certainly exploitable.
Other pluses are that he is proven on soft going and has a good draw in stall 12.
The booking of William Buick also catches the eye and everything looks in place for a huge run.
The 12s on offer with Ladbrokes looks too big, and represents tremendous each-way value in my book.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Bond Fastrac (12/1 Ladbrokes)
7/1 Riptide can tear apart his rivals
Riptide looks well treated in the 5.00 at Newcastle and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1.
The gelding went in at the first time of asking for Michael Scudamore when belatedly opening his flat account at Warwick back in June off a mark of 62 and has run a number of solid races since.
He ran an absolute blinder on his latest start at York when a close-up fourth to Bow To No One off a mark of 70 and gets into today’s contest on the same mark.
Given that he has been rated as high as 133 over hurdles he certainly looks potentially well treated enough to go in again, and it’s interesting that connections are refitting him with cheekpieces as he tends to race lazily and has gone well in them in the past.
Today’s class 5 contest is far less competitive than the class 4 event he ran in at the Knavesmire and the fact that he has proven winning form in the mud is another major plus.
If he runs up to form then he has got to take all the beating, and at 7/1 he looks an each-way steal.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way (7/1 Betfred – BOG, Stan James)
