Norwich have been pushed out from 6/4 to 9/4 by Sky Bet to be relegated from the Barclays Premier League after upsetting the odds to draw 1-1 at Liverpool.

The Canaries came in to the Anfield clash as 9/1 outsiders with the online bookmaker, but salvaged a point thanks to substitute Grant Holt’s header on the hour mark after Craig Bellamy opened the scoring.

The Reds’ failure to win, having started the game as 2/7 favourites, sees them drift from 22/1 to 28/1 for the Premier League title as they now sit, despite playing a game more, seven points adrift of leaders Manchester City, who travel to fellow front-runners Manchester United as 13/5 outsiders on Sunday.

While Paul Lambert’s men boosted their survival hopes, Wigan and Bolton did theirs no good with the Latics now 8/13 favourites for the drop following a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle, while the Trotters have been cut from 3/1 to 5/2 to go down after losing 2-0 at home to Sunderland.

Sky Bet’s Michael Triffit said: “Having started the season odds-on for the drop, the Canaries have shown admirable character in threatening to cause an upset at Old Trafford before snatching a point at Anfield, and it’s hard to say their position in seventh is not warranted.

“However, the season is still young and as we’ve seen with Hull and Blackpool in recent seasons, a strong start counts for little if they fail to maintain their impressive form.”
