Pearl Blue look nicely treated on the pick of her form in the 6.25 at Hamilton this evening and worth siding with at 12/1.

The mare was last successful in a claimer at Windsor back in May off an official rating of 90 when trained by Jamie Osborne, after which she joined David O’Meara and ran very well to finish fourth to Ride Runner at Chester off a mark of 90.

Pearl Blue’s form has beeen hit and miss in five subsequent starts, but she did run well on her penultimate outing when staying on from off the pace to finish a never nearer 2 3/4 lengths fifth of 12 to stable companion Rural Celebration.

She now meets that rival on 7lb better terms, and also gets fitted with the cheekpieces for the first time.

If they have the desired effect Pearl Blue looks weighted to go well having been dropped another couple of pounds to a very workable mark of 82.

I certainly don’t think she should be avialable to back at nearly three times the price of Rural Celebration, and at the odds on offer she looks well worth an each-way wager.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Pearl Blue (12/1 bet365 – BOG)
