Poet Mark appeals at 12s on handicap debut

Poet Mark looks on a potentially handy mark on handicap debut in the 1.45 at Wetherby today and worth siding with at 12/1.

Tim Easterby’s charge shaped with plenty of promise on debur over hurdles when a not knockked about sixth of 12 to stable conmpanion Out Thomas over 2m at this venue

He finsihed a neck in front of Harley Rebel who ha scome out and won since and is now rated  117, and was beaten only 11 lengths by the winner who is now rated 133.

Poet Mark then ran as well as could be expected when a 21 length second of five to the useful 138-rated  Duke Of Medina at Market Rasen, but has not been at his best in two subsequent outings.

However, he looks a potential improver now going down the handicap route and an opening mark of 99 looks more than fair judged on his first two efforts over the obstacles.

Connections are also now refitting him with the blinkers, and the step up to 2m 3f promises to suit.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts eacj-way Poet Mark (12/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
