The World Cup qualifier between Poland and England tonight (8pm KO, Live on ITV1) promises to be a tight-fought affair, and that makes the draw look the best bet at 12/5 with Betfred and Paddy Power.

The Three Lions may have beaten San Marino 5-0 on Friday night, but I wasn’t impressed by the performance and the likes of Kyle Walker, Jonjo Shelvey and Leighton Baines simply didn’t look International standard.

Roy Hodgson’s men are going to find this clash a totally different kettle of fish, as Poland are a well organised side and have a striker in the shape of Robert Lewandowski who is going to be a major threat.

England have started this qualification campaign with two 5-0 victories and a 1-1 draw against Ukraine and Poland’s results to date have been a 2-0 win at home to Moldova and a 2-2 draw in Montenegro.

Both will be happy with what they have achieved so far, and I can’t help but feel that both managers will be content with a point in this.

I am convinced that Poland are certainly going to set their stall out for a share of the spoils and think England will find it hard to break them down.

Wayne Rooney, who was outstanding against San Marino before bizarrely being substituted when on a hat-trick, is a top priced 5/1 with BetVictor and Stan James to get the first goal.

That looks a decent price, as does the 8/1 on offer with Stan James about Lewandowski.

If you are planning to play in that market my advice would be to back both.

I fancy the match to end 1-1, and that outcome is a top priced 13/2 with Hills and Stan James.
