Portugal the punt to destroy Danes

Portugal rate a solid bet at 10/11 to beat Denmark in the Group B tea-time Euro2012 clash (5pm KO, Live on ITV1).

They paid the price for a slow start when going down 1-0 to Germany in their opening game, but showed enough to suggest that they can win this with ease.

Only after conceding did they come to life and attack, and they created plenty of chances and were a bit unfortunate not to get a draw.

This time I expect them to attack right from the first whistle and in Nani and Ronaldo they have two players capable of wreaking havoc.

Nani in particular appeals to score the first goal at 10/1 with BetVictor, Boylesports and Stan James.

The Man United man has scored first in two of his four appearances against the Danes, and is as short as 7/1 with Betfred.

As far as the stats are concerned, Denmark won the last meeting of the sides when they topped their group in qualifying but Portugal were much too good for them in the reverse fixture.

I also still can’t believe that the Danes managed to beat Holland 1-0 in the opening game, where they had just 5 shots on target to their opponent’s 27.

They were very, very lucky to win, and I fully expect Portugal to prove far too strong for them.

At 10/11 with BetVictor, Hills, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power they look bankers, and for those that like to play the correct score market I would suggest small spit stakes on 2-0 at 8/1 with BetVictor and 3-0 at 18/1 with Hills.
