Course and distance winner Plein Pouvoir will relish the testing conditions in the 1.30 at Chepstow and is of major interest at 7/1.
The gelding showed that heavy ground conditions hold no fear for him when slamming a decent field here back in February by 28 lengths, and looked as if he was ready to go in again when fourth to Oscar Gogo last time out.
Held up that day he made good headway to chase the leaders, but was then unable to find any extra three from home and kept on at the one-pace to be beaten 21 lengths.
To me it was clear that he needed that run to get him razor sharp, and now that he has a couple of runs under his belt there will be no excuses as far as fitness in concerned today.
He looks to have been primed to land this, and given that he is just 6lb higher than when romping her to register his last win he looks handicapped to take all the beating under his optimum conditions.
