Following Kell Brook having to recently withdraw from his scheduled world title shot with Devon Alexander the job to bring the IBF world welterweight title back to the UK has now been handed to Matchroom stablemate Lee Purdy 20-3-1, 13 KO’s who will now face Devon Alexander 24-1, 13 KO’s in Atlantic City on May 18.
If Purdy can do it on May 18 he’ll be a hero not only in Essex but with fight fans across Britain plus it will set him up for some great paydays and some highly interesting domestic clashes with Kell Brook and possibly Amir Khan.
