Rally makes Mass appeal at 12/1

Mass Rally has a good record at York and looks cracking each-way value at 12/1 in the 1.55 there today now dropped in grade from what looks a workable mark.

Michael Dods’  gelding is a dual winner at the track, over 6f, and is ideally suited by big fields and a strong pace to aim at.

The seven-year-old is just 2lb higher than when registering his last success in an ultra-ccompetitive class 2 handicap over 6f at this venue back in October, and has since performed with great credit in Group company.

Those runs include an excellent fourth of 13 to Maarek in the Group 2 Duke Of York Stakes here last time out, where he stayed on strongly to be beaten just 2 1/4 lengths.

The form of that race looks strong, and Mass Rally now drops back into handicap company for the first time since when last successful.

Although he has yet to win over this afternoon’s 5f trip, he has made the frame on just three tries over it and been beaten just a head, a neck and a length.

That suggests the drop back to the minimum trip should not be a problem, and Mass Rally looks to have bagged a great draw in stall 17 from which he should be able to get a lovely tow into the race as there are plenty fo speedy types such as Judge N’ Jury and See The Sun drawn high and it looks as if that is where the pace will be.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Mass Rally (12/1 Boylesports – BOG)
