Red Indian looks to have plenty going for him in the 1.45 at Aintree today now stepped up in trip.
Ben Pauling’s charge notched his sole success over the obstacles in the mud at Ffos Las back in december 2016 and comes itno the race on the back of three really solid efforts.
They include when 2 3/4 length third of 16 to William Henry in the Lanzarote at Kempton.
Red Indianalso ran stormer last time out in the 2m 5f Coral cup when a keeping on 6 1/2 length sixth of 26 to Bleu Berry off a mark of 139.
He didn’t quite have th pace to land a telling blow in that but the way in which he stuck to the task suggseted that the step up to today’s 3m trip would be in his favour.
Red Indian is able to race in this off an unchaged mark and the fact he handles the grpound and comes into the race in fine fettle are big pluses.
After just seven starts over hurdles he also remains open to further progress and the form of his aformentioned races reads very well in the context of this contest.
