Viconte Du Noyer has become well-treated and looks worth a wager at 20/1 in the 3.40 at Aintree today.
The nine-year-old had some smart form to his name when trained in Ireland by Henry De Bromhead and made a winning start for Colin Tizzard when landing the BetVictor Handicap Chase at Cheltenham in 2016 when scoring by a length off a mark of 148.
He got put uip to 154 for that success and has largely struggled since.
However, he did run well when runner-up in a competitive affair at last year’s Punchestown Festival behind Sizing Granite off 148 and the winner finished third in a Grade 1 here yesterday.
Viconte Du Noyer is now able to race off 4lb lower (144) and is 2lb below his last winning mark.
It makes him a big player at the weights on the pick of his form for a trainer whose runners have been in fine form at this meeting.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Viconte Du Noyer (20/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
