Rose Garnet is an interesting contender on her debut for Tony Carroll in the 7.35 at Kempton tonight and looks worth a wager at 15/2.
The filly was formerly trained in Ireland by David Marnane, and although she is still a maiden she has some solid efforts to her name and gets into this contest off a career-low mark of 47.
The daughter of Invincible Spirit finished runner-up on her handicap debut last year off a mark of 57 in a competitive 20 runner affair at Naas, and is clearly well-in at the weights if able to repeat that effort.
She also finished a fair fifth of 14 to Grand Heiress when last seen in action at Dundalk back in August, and has run well several times at that all-weather venue.
That suggest that she will have no problems with the polytrack surface, and with Ryan Tate in the saddle and taking off another 5lbs she is weighted to take the beating if ready to go at the first time of asking for her new handler.
Carroll is certainly capable of getting one ready to land a punt, and Rose Garnet looks the type who he will place to do so from her current mark.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Rose Garnet (15/2 Hills – BOG)
